Meditations I
Jura Mountains - Switzerland (Mustafa Öztürk, 2024) |
The thumb I use to hold the pen hurts.
Once again, I lose myself in the past and succumb to my habits. Even my meditation doesn’t please me, and since I don’t practice it with discipline, I harbor anger and a weakness for daydreaming. Negative thoughts arise. Once again, I realize that all these thoughts, in their essence, can be traced back to a common reality: Anicca! (Impermanence).
Within me, there still exists an attachment to the desire to correct mistakes and achieve success. But I realize that this can only be overcome through deep contemplation and reflection—through deep thought, comprehensive insight.
Today, a thought came to me: "Ignorance is the greatest happiness, and knowledge is the greatest ignorance."
To perceive reality as it is, unclouded by illusions, is the ultimate wisdom. It feels as though a voice of wisdom from the heavens whispers to me: My efforts and aspirations should aim to understand the true nature of matter and connect with it. The greatest peace and deepest satisfaction come from here.
